HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR VUE

Posted 11th October 2018

When you visit our Granvue display homes, you’ll have the opportunity to see our floorplans come to life. There’s nothing quite like walking through each space to get an idea of the size of the rooms and the flow space throughout the home and help you choose the design that works for you.

It’s also the chance to see exactly what is included in your home as standard, plus explore a range of upgrade options that are available; so you can imagine living in the home and what colours, styles, profiles and finishes suit your taste and lifestyle.

One of the first things that our customers like to consider is whether a single or double storey best suits their family. Do you have a preference?  Another important consideration is how long you plan to live in the home.  Does the home provide the required number of bedrooms and bathrooms for all family members – now and in the future?

It’s very important to think about the things that family members will be doing in the home.  Will you be entertaining guests?  How much food preparation space do you need?  Do you like dining indoors our outdoors in an alfresco space?  Are there places for the family to come together and places where different family members can enjoy some quiet time?  Do you need a home office or peaceful study area?  Would you like to have a dedicated and safe space for young children to play?  It helps to make a wish list, thinking about all the people in the family and their particular needs, so that you know what you are looking for in terms of space allocation.

Many floorplans have options available, to convert a bedroom into a home office, to add a powder room, change a bedroom into a home theatre or create a Butler’s pantry.  It’s a good idea to check with your consultant to see what floor plan options are available.  They often have great ideas of options that other people have previously built, that may be suitable for you.

it can often be said that the kitchen is the heart of the home, so it’s important to make sure your kitchen layout, fixtures and fittings work to complement this space.  Would you like an informal dining area or breakfast bar at the kitchen counter? What type of appliances do you need and where do you need them to be located? Do you prefer an under mount or inset sink? Tiled or glass splash back? And what colours and finishes of cabinetry suit your décor?

Display homes can be a great source of inspiration for kitchen and bathroom décor.  You’re sure to find examples of popular design styles including Classic, Contemporary, Nordic, Coastal, Global, Fusion and Luxe.  Visiting lots of display homes will give you plenty of ideas and opportunities to explore different styles and see what appeals to you.  Once you see a style that you like, your sales consultant can give you the details of the colours and finishes that make up the interior scheme.

External street appeal is also a very important consideration in ensuring that you love greeting guests to your home and driving in to your street and admiring your place to come home, each and every day. A good place to start is to speak with your consultant about the façade styles available to suit your selected home design.  What colours and materials appeal to you?  From bricks, to render; roof tiles or Colorbond roofing; garage door styles, fascia, guttering, there are many options to consider including your choice of front door.  If you’re building in a new estate, there may be design guidelines that need to be considered, and the Granvue Team will be here to help you with these requirements and through every stage of your home building journey.

Last but not least, can you imagine living in this home?  Can you imagine your family and friends enjoying this home with you for many years to come? – then I think you’ve made your choice.
